Florian Chouchou, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Florian Chouchou is a post-doctoral fellow at Concordia University, where he works on sleep, sleep disorders, and non-pharmacological therapy as physical activity and cognitive-behavioral therapy. He is a kinesiologist and received his PhD in Neurosciences from University of Lyon, with postdoctoral trainings in sleep research at University of Montréal and Lyon. He has received a grant as PI totaling $300,000 at the University of Lyon, and recently an award from the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology, Herbert Jasper Young Investigator Paper Award 2017. He is the author of 30 peer-reviewed publications (H-index = 13), including high-impact journals (e.g., European Heart Journal, Sleep Medical Reviews, Annals of Neurology…), 40 communications, one patent and one software license.

His research focuses on central control of the autonomic nervous system, sleep and its relationship to cardiovascular health. He is a sleep researcher with expertise in electrophysiology (EEG, Heart Rate Variability, and Skin Conductance).
