Nathan Cross, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

I completed my PhD at the University of Sydney, Australia in 2017. My dissertation covered the neural correlates (as measured through MRI, EEG and neuropsychology) of obstructive sleep apnoea in older adults at risk for dementia, in the context of understanding predictors of cognitive decline. After completing my degree, I moved to Montreal and took my current position in this lab. I am currently investigating the characteristics and role of neural oscillations during sleep across a range of populations including healthy younger and older adults, older adults with chronic insomnia, and patients with stroke. My interests are to determine how the activity within the brain during sleep is reflective of its integrity and cognitive functioning during wakefulness.
