Soufiane Boucetta, PhD

– I am currently with my 2nd postdoc at Jacques Montplaisir’s lab at Center for Advanced Research in Sleep Medicine, Sacré-Coeur Hospital.  I work with him on the pathophysiology of sleepwalking.
– I did my first postdoc with Thanh Dang-Vu at Concordia University. My work has been on the neuroimaging of sleep disorders (e.g. RBD, Idiopathic Hypersomnia …).
– I received a PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University in 2012 under the supervision of Barbara Jones (Montreal Neurological Institute). My work has been on the role of the brainstem neurons in controlling  the wake-sleep cycle in rats.
– I received a master’s degree in neurobiology from Laval University in 2005 under the supervision of Igor Timofeev (Steriade group). My work has been on the intrinsic properties of thalomo-cortical neurons in cats.
– I have a bachelor in Behavioral Biology from the University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene, Algiers, Algeria.

Biography
